New on-site play facilities
Where: Central Park
When: Completion by the end of 2022, opening to the public in early 2023
What: BDW is working to deliver a multi-use games area (MUGA) and a neighbourhood equipped area of play (NEAP) on the Central Park at Darwin Green. These will be opened in early 2023 for all residents to enjoy.
Remedial Drainage Works
Where: BDW4
When: Anticipated completion at the end of December 2022
What: Work is currently taking place to ensure that the drainage on site is delivered to an adoptable standard. This involves working within the existing roads circa 5m deep. Once this has been completed the road will be reinstated back to base course tarmac.
Footpaths from Histon Road
Where: BDW5&6
When: Work commenced in November 2022
What: The construction of footpaths from Histon Road to the development has commenced. The footpaths will ensure new residents are well-connected to the surrounding area through sustainable transport links, as well as providing access for existing residents to the benefits of the new development.

When: Enabling works commenced November 2022
What: Following its approval work is underway at BDW5&6. Work is currently taking place to ensure that the drainage on site is delivered to an adoptable standard.
Enabling Works and Pile Mat Formation
Where: BDW5&6
When: Ongoing
What: BDW5&6 received planning permission in December 2021 and work is now taking place to prepare the site for construction. The nature of this work is diverse, but includes the formation of pile mats, which form part of the foundations for the site.
Local Centre – Library and retail blocks
Where: BDW1
When: Anticipated completion in April 2023
What: Work is currently taking place to construct the library and two retail blocks being delivered as part of the local centre on BDW1. The work on the superstructures is expected to last until late 2022/early 2023, with the rest of the build taking place prior to April 2023.

Construction working times
According to the planning permission granted for the wider Darwin Green 1 site, construction is permitted to take place between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday and from 8am till 2pm on a Saturday.
